For
twenty years he served as the manager of a country music radio station.
There he delivered a daily radio commentary, wrote and produced radio and
television commercials, and served as a play-by-play sports announcer.
Currently, one of nation's
most active motivational humorist... his humor has been quoted by Paul
Harvey and USA Today. Bryan has been inducted into the National Speakers
Association's, Speaker Hall of Fame. He's also a writer, and author of
the books, Life Is An Adventure & Selling in the Bear Woods.
As a member of the Carpenter's
for Christ, Bryan spends one week each year helping to build church buildings.
He spends the other fifty-one weeks praying they don't fall down!
Bryan Townsend is a professional
speaker and writer. He has spoken for thousands of audiences all across
the country, and has written advertising copy, newspaper columns, magazine
articles and two books. His first speech was delivered to the student body
at Dixon Jr. High School when he was in the eighth grade. Bryan says, "It
was a magic moment and I have been addicted to that feeling ever since!"
Bryan began a career in broadcasting
while attending Jacksonville State University. He worked as a DJ, news
reporter, sports announcer and advertising salesman. Following graduation,
he became general manager and part owner of a radio station in his hometown.
The station became one of the first profitable FM radio stations in the
country and Bryan was asked to speak for various broadcast groups and tell
about the success his station was having. He managed the station for 19
years until he left to pursue his speaking career full time.
An active member of a lay
ministry called Carpenter's for Christ, Bryan volunteers to help build
church buildings each summer. As a spokesman for this group, speaking for
broadcast groups, and speaking for various athletic groups during his tenure
as a sports announcer, Bryan developed his speaking style.
†In 1992, Bryan earned the
designation Certified Speaking Professional from the National Speakers
Association. In 1999 the Association honored him with the coveted CPAE
designation and he was inducted into the NSA Speaker Hall of Fame.
Along with his childhood
sweetheart and wife Judy Babe, Bryan resides on Logan Martin Lake in the
mountains of northeast Alabama where he loves to fish. Judy Babe says he
speaks and writes to support his fishing habit!

The Certified Speaking Professional
designation is the speaking industry's international measure of platform
skill. CSP is conferred by NSA only on those accomplished speakers who
have earned it by meeting strict criteria. Less than 8% of NSA members
hold this professional designation.
CPAE SPEAKER HALL OF FAME
The highest speaking award
given by NSA indicating the speaker has been evaluated by his or her peers
and judged to be one of the best among the top 3% of professional speakers.
This elite group includes names such as: Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Earl
Nightingale, Art Linkletter, Ronald Reagan, Zig Ziglar and General Colin
Powell.
