At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he captured four Gold Medals, one
Silver, and broke four World Records. His World Records in the 100 and
200 meter backstroke lasted an amazing seven years after his retirement.
During his career he won 25 National AAU titles and set a record by winning
10 NCAA individual titles (in 12 swims), while leading his team to four
undefeated seasons, and in 1977, he won the 1977 James E. Sullivan Award
as our Nation's Outstanding Amateur Athlete. In 1984 he carried the Olympic
Flag into the Opening Ceremonies of the Los Angeles Games, and was elected
into the United States Olympic Committee Hall of Fame. He worked as a sport
commentator at four Olympic Games, the Games in Los Angeles in 1984 and
Seoul, South Korea In 1988, as well as the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville,
France and Lillehammer, Norway.
John Naber is very much in demand as a television analyst, commentator
and host. He is currently under contract with ABC Sports and has served
as play-by-play host on ABC's Wide World of Sports for events such as the
Grand National Steeplechase in Aintree, England, the World Gymnastics Championships
in Brisbane, Australia, and the famous Hannenkahm Downhill Race! from Kitzbuhl,
Austria. As an observer of athletic excellence, he is able to share the
“behind the scenes” stories of the athletes and their accomplishments.
With the use of humor in matching his comments to the specific needs of
his audience, John Naber has developed a series of interchangeable “power-paragraph”
fit for any occasion from a sports event to a sales and management seminar.
Along with his individual goal-setting methods, he uses his experience
as an Olympic athlete and his observations as a sports announcer to illustrate
the process of seeing dreams come true. John Naber has worked as a Master
of Ceremonies, keynote speaker, seminar leader, panelist, moderator, and
dinner speaker, for small audiences of twenty to full auditoriums of 50,000.

Inc. a consulting firm that specializes in sports-related marketing.
