Dr. Will Miller, Nick At Nite's resident Television Therapist and the host
of their “Why We Watch” segments, has been a part of the Nickelodeon family
since 1992. His penetrating insights into the hidden meanings of our favorite
television shows have made him a popular fixture at the home of “Classic
TV.”
What is amazing about Dr. Will is that he really is who he claims to be
- a fully trained and experienced psychotherapist. So what he tells us
about classic television may be humorous, but it's also true. Howard Borden
acts like Bob and Emily's child; Mary's terrible parties are directly related
to her inner conflicts; and “Gilligan's Island” really is a show about
rage.
In addition to his work at Nick At Nite, Dr. Will has been a professional
stand-up comedian for more than 15 years, and is an ordained minister.
Will was also the host of the NBC daytime talk show, “The Other Side.”
He has made many other national television appearances, including A&E's
“Caroline's Comedy Hour,” CNN's “Larry King Show,” ABC's “Good Morning
America,” NBC's “Dateline,” and the Joan Rivers Show. Will was also featured
in an article in People Magazine.
Dr. Will's first book, “Why We Watch Killing The Gilligan Within” was published
by Simon & Schuster in the fall of 1996, His radio clips (syndicated
by United Stations) can be heard on stations across the country. Dr. Will
is in great demand as a speaker to corporations across the United States
and Canada. Dr. Will Miller holds a Masters Degree and a Doctorate in Urban
Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a Masters in
Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, and a Masters in Divinity
from Union Theological Seminary.
