Baylor Health Care System’s 100th Anniversary Celebration!
At Baylor, we have
good reason to celebrate. Founded about 100 years ago on October 16, 1903,
as a humble Christian ministry of
healing, Baylor Health
Care System has grown and woven itself into the fabric of the Dallas-Fort
Worth and beyond Texas boundaries to
the global.
The committee met
with SBSB President Michael Pomije over a year ago before the event, to
discuss who would inspire this
centennial celebration.
With names like President Carter and Bush, and numerous religious leaders
- it was unanimous that
Dr. Maya Angelou
was Baylor’s choice as their centennial keynote speaker.
Interfaith Garden
of Prayer in Memory of Bradley Wayne will be dedicated in a private ceremony.
The garden, located on Junius Street
across from A. Webb
Roberts Hospital, expresses Baylor’s commitment to the spiritual needs
of patients and their families as an
integral part of
the healing process. The garden and prayer path will provide for patients,
their families, and Baylor employees and
physicians a place
of peace and beauty for prayer and meditation. The final pray has delivered
by Dr. Maya Angelou.
